4-Day Rwanda Gorilla Trekking
Overview
This 4-day safari takes you deep into the misty mountains of Volcanoes National Park, Rwanda’s premier destination for gorilla trekking. Beginning in the capital city of Kigali, you’ll journey through the scenic countryside to Musanze where you will track endangered mountain gorillas and golden monkeys. This trip also includes a cultural experience and a city tour of Kigali.
Tour Plan
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport and completion of immigration formalities, you will be met by your safari driver guide who will provide a short briefing before transferring you to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, your driver guide will pick you up from your hotel for a Kigali city tour including a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre. Afterwards, drive north through Rwanda’s scenic countryside to Musanze near Volcanoes National Park. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch and enjoy the rest of the afternoon at leisure.

Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel
After an early breakfast, transfer to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a briefing by park rangers before beginning your gorilla trek. You will hike through the forest in search of a habituated gorilla family. Upon locating them, you will spend one hour observing and photographing these gentle giants. After the trek, return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, visit Iby’iwacu Cultural Village to experience Rwanda’s cultural heritage.

After breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing before beginning your golden monkey trek. These endangered monkeys are unique to the Virunga Mountains and are known for their energetic behavior. Return to the lodge for lunch and afterwards transfer back to Kigali. Depending on flight time, there is an option for an additional short city tour before drop-off at Kigali International Airport.
