Tour Plan
Your Best Namibia Safari Package begins when you arrive in Windhoek.
After completing arrival formalities, collect your rental vehicle and receive the information needed for your self-drive journey.
Once you are comfortable with the vehicle, begin driving north toward Okonjima Private Game Reserve. The journey takes approximately three hours, depending on traffic and stops.
Okonjima is known for its predator conservation work and is closely associated with the AfriCat Foundation.
After arriving, check in at Okonjima Plains Camp and settle into your accommodation.
Later in the afternoon, join a scheduled wildlife activity such as leopard tracking, depending on availability and lodge arrangements.

The first day provides an exciting introduction to Namibia’s wildlife before you continue toward Etosha.

Despite its dry environment, the area supports desert-adapted wildlife, including elephants that move through dry river systems in search of food and water.
The region is also rich in ancient history and culture.
As sunset approaches, watch the surrounding rocks change color before settling in for dinner.

Today you can explore some of Damaraland’s most important attractions.
One option is joining a guided excursion in search of desert-adapted elephants.
These elephants move across large areas, so finding them requires patience and knowledge of the landscape.
Your guide may follow tracks, dry riverbeds and feeding signs to locate the animals.
Another major attraction is Twyfelfontein, famous for its ancient rock engravings.
The area contains thousands of carvings that provide a fascinating window into the lives and beliefs of people who once lived in this region.
Depending on your program, you may also visit the Petrified Forest.
Return to Camp Kipwe after your activities and enjoy another evening surrounded by the landscapes of Damaraland.

After the cruise, return toward Swakopmund.

Join your guided tour into Sossusvlei.
