7-Day Customized Kenya Safari
Overview
This Kenya Safari is a 7-day private journey through some of the most famous wildlife destinations in Kenya. The safari combines the open savannahs of the Masai Mara, the beautiful landscapes of Lake Nakuru, the peaceful waters of Lake Naivasha, and the elephant-rich plains of Amboseli National Park. It is a well-rounded safari for travelers who want to enjoy wildlife, nature, culture, and scenic views in one memorable trip.
The adventure begins in the Masai Mara National Reserve, one of Africa’s best-known wildlife destinations. The reserve is home to the Big Five, including lions, elephants, leopards, buffaloes, and rhinos. You may also see cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, hippos, crocodiles, and many antelope species. Between July and October, the Mara can also be part of the Great Wildebeest Migration, when large herds of wildebeest and zebras move into the area in search of fresh grazing.
Your Kenya Safari continues to Lake Nakuru National Park, a protected area famous for its rhinos and diverse birdlife. The park offers beautiful views of the lake and surrounding Rift Valley landscape. Depending on the season and water conditions, flamingos may gather around the lake.
You will then explore Lake Naivasha, a peaceful freshwater lake where you can enjoy an optional boat ride and see hippos and waterbirds. The journey continues to Amboseli National Park, famous for its large elephant herds and spectacular views of Mount Kilimanjaro.
With guided game drives, comfortable accommodation, scenic journeys, and optional cultural and nature activities, this 7-day Kenya Safari offers a wonderful introduction to Kenya’s wildlife and landscapes.
Tour Plan
Your Kenya Safari begins with a morning pick-up from your Nairobi hotel, residence, or airport at around 8:30 a.m. Meet your professional safari guide and begin the journey towards the Masai Mara National Reserve.
Travel through the scenic Great Rift Valley and enjoy views of the dramatic escarpment, rolling hills, farms, and local communities. Continue towards the Mara, arriving in time for lunch at your camp or lodge.
After lunch and some time to relax, head out for your first afternoon game drive. Explore the open savannah while searching for lions, elephants, leopards, cheetahs, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, and other plains wildlife.
The Masai Mara offers excellent opportunities for photography and wildlife viewing. Your guide will help you find animals and explain more about their behavior and the Mara ecosystem.
Return to your accommodation in the evening for dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, set out for a full-day game drive across the Masai Mara. You can carry a picnic lunch and spend the day exploring different areas of the reserve.
The Mara is famous for its rich wildlife and wide open grasslands. Your guide will search for big cats such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards, while also looking for elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, impalas, and other animals.
The landscape of the Mara changes from open plains to areas of acacia trees and riverine vegetation. These different habitats support a large variety of wildlife.
During the migration season, you may visit areas around the Mara River where wildebeest and zebras gather. However, migration movements and river crossings are natural events and cannot be guaranteed on a specific day.
After a full day of game viewing, return to your camp for dinner and overnight accommodation
Begin your day with breakfast before checking out of your accommodation. You may choose an optional visit to a traditional Maasai village to learn more about Maasai culture, traditions, homes, music, and daily life.
After the cultural experience, continue your journey towards Lake Nakuru National Park. Enjoy the changing scenery as you travel through Kenya’s countryside.
Depending on your itinerary and timing, you may make a stop at Lake Naivasha for an optional boat ride. The lake is home to hippos and many species of waterbirds.
Continue towards Nakuru with a picnic lunch along the way. Arrive in the evening and check into your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay.
