After the visit, enjoy lunch before continuing toward Nyungwe National Park. The scenery becomes greener as you approach this ancient mountain rainforest.

Nyungwe is famous for its rich primate and birdlife and provides an exciting change from Rwanda's cultivated hills. Arrive at your accommodation later in the day, check in, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings before dinner and overnight.

Wake early for breakfast before transferring to the designated starting point for your chimpanzee trekking adventure. After a briefing from the guides, enter the forest and begin searching for one of Nyungwe's habituated chimpanzee communities.

The trek takes you through thick vegetation where you may hear chimpanzees calling before you see them. Once located, enjoy the permitted viewing period observing their natural behavior. Watch them feed, climb, communicate, groom, and move through the forest canopy.

After trekking, return for lunch and some time to rest. Later, your Luxury Rwanda Safari continues with the famous Nyungwe canopy experience.

Walk along the suspended bridge high above the forest floor and enjoy impressive views across the rainforest. The elevated position also provides another opportunity to appreciate Nyungwe's birdlife and enormous trees.

After an early breakfast, travel toward the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo. Complete the required border and immigration procedures before continuing toward Kahuzi-Biega National Park.

Today brings a completely different primate encounter as you search for eastern lowland gorillas, also known as Grauer's gorillas. After a briefing, enter the forest with trained trackers and guides.

The trek can take several hours depending on the location and movement of the gorilla family. Once the gorillas are found, you will have the permitted viewing time to observe and photograph them while following instructions from your guides.

Eastern lowland gorillas are larger than mountain gorillas, making this encounter an impressive addition to your primate journey.

After trekking, leave the park and make the return journey toward Rusizi. Cross back into Rwanda and continue to your accommodation for a well-earned rest.

Enjoy breakfast before beginning your journey north toward the Volcanoes region. Today offers a slower pace after the previous day's trekking adventure.

Along the way, enjoy a scenic boat ride on Lake Kivu. Surrounded by green hills and distant mountains, the lake provides beautiful views and opportunities to observe local fishing communities and birdlife.

After approximately two hours on the water, continue your journey and stop for lunch at a local restaurant. You will then drive through Rwanda's impressive countryside toward Volcanoes National Park.

The Virunga volcanoes gradually appear as you approach the Musanze region. These dramatic mountains form one of Africa's most important primate habitats.

Arrive at your hotel, check in, and spend the evening relaxing while preparing for the next day's golden monkey trekking adventure.

After breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for your golden monkey trekking briefing. Your guides will explain what to expect and how to behave around these active primates.

Enter the forest and begin searching for golden monkeys, which are known for their golden-orange coloring and energetic behavior. They are commonly found around bamboo vegetation where they feed and move quickly between the trees.

Once the monkeys are located, enjoy the permitted viewing time observing and photographing them. Their playful movements create a very different experience from gorilla trekking.

Return from the forest and enjoy lunch. In the afternoon, your Luxury Rwanda Safari introduces you to another side of the country through a cultural village visit.

Meet local people and learn about traditional Rwandan lifestyles, music, dance, crafts, and community customs. After the experience, return to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, leave the Volcanoes region and begin your journey toward Uganda. Travel through Rwanda's beautiful highlands before reaching the border, where you will complete immigration procedures.

Continue into southwestern Uganda and drive toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This UNESCO World Heritage Site protects an extraordinary mountain forest and is best known as one of the world's remaining homes of mountain gorillas.

Arrive at your lodge and enjoy lunch before heading out for a cultural experience with the Batwa community.

Learn about the Batwa's traditional relationship with the forest, including hunting traditions, medicinal plants, food gathering, music, and storytelling. The experience provides a deeper understanding of communities that historically depended on the forest.

Return to your lodge later in the afternoon and prepare for the following morning's gorilla trek.

The trek can last several hours and may involve steep, muddy, and uneven trails. Once your assigned gorilla family is located, enjoy the permitted viewing period while observing these endangered primates in their natural environment.

Watch the silverback, females, juveniles, and young gorillas as they feed, rest, groom, and interact.

After trekking, return for lunch before driving to Lake Bunyonyi. Known for its green hills and many islands, the lake provides a peaceful setting after your forest adventure.

Your guide will use knowledge of the park, animal behavior, and recent sightings to improve your chances of memorable encounters.

Take time to appreciate the scenery as well. Queen Elizabeth National Park contains open plains, wetlands, woodland, crater areas, and distant views toward the Rwenzori Mountains.

After a rewarding day of photography and wildlife viewing, return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, prepare for another excellent wildlife experience with a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel.

The natural channel connects Lake George and Lake Edward and attracts large numbers of animals and birds. During the cruise, look for hippos resting in the water, crocodiles along the banks, buffaloes cooling near the shoreline, and elephants arriving to drink.

Numerous water birds can also be seen along the channel, making the cruise particularly rewarding for photographers and bird lovers.

After the boat experience, enjoy lunch before leaving Queen Elizabeth National Park and beginning the journey toward Kampala.

The drive provides another chance to see Uganda's countryside, towns, farms, and local communities. Arrive in the Kampala area later in the day and check into your accommodation for dinner and overnight.

Your final day begins with a visit to Mabamba Swamp, one of Uganda's best-known locations for searching for the rare shoebill.

Explore the wetland with a local guide, usually using a small boat or canoe to move through narrow channels surrounded by papyrus vegetation. Keep watch for the impressive shoebill as well as other wetland birds.

After completing the Mabamba experience, continue with the day's sightseeing according to your available departure time. A visit to a botanical garden may be included, offering a peaceful conclusion to your journey and an opportunity to see different plants and bird species.
