3-Day Chobe Safari at Chobe River Lodge
Overview
Chobe River Lodge Safari
This short but immersive safari offers the perfect introduction to Botswana’s spectacular wildlife and the remarkable Chobe National Park. A Chobe River Lodge Safari combines comfortable accommodation, exciting game drives, and peaceful boat cruises, giving travelers two different ways to experience the region’s abundant wildlife. Located in Kasane, Chobe River Lodge provides a convenient base for exploring one of southern Africa’s most wildlife-rich destinations.
Chobe River Lodge is a small and intimate property with only 12 rooms, creating a relaxed atmosphere away from the large crowds found at some bigger safari lodges. Its location in Kasane places guests just minutes from the entrance to Chobe National Park, making it easy to begin game-viewing activities without long transfers. This makes the lodge especially suitable for travelers looking for a convenient and personal safari experience.
During your Chobe River Lodge Safari, one of the highlights is a game drive through Chobe National Park. The park is famous for its large elephant population, but you may also encounter buffalo, lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, hippos, and many species of birds. Early morning and late afternoon drives are particularly rewarding because wildlife is often more active when temperatures are cooler. Experienced guides help guests understand animal behavior, identify tracks, and discover wildlife that may otherwise be easy to miss.
A boat cruise on the Chobe River adds another exciting dimension to the safari. From the water, you can observe elephants coming to drink and bathe along the riverbanks, while hippos, crocodiles, buffalo, and waterbirds are often visible close to the shoreline. The changing light during an afternoon cruise also creates excellent opportunities for photography and peaceful sunset views.
A Chobe River Lodge Safari can be ideal for couples, families, first-time safari travelers, and visitors combining Botswana with Victoria Falls or other southern African destinations. Its short duration makes it easy to include in a longer African holiday while still providing memorable wildlife encounters. With comfortable accommodation, easy access to Chobe National Park, diverse wildlife, and both land and water activities, this safari delivers an authentic Botswana experience in a convenient and intimate setting.
