Overview

This 5-day mid-range safari takes you deep into the wild heart of southern Tanzania—Mikumi National Park and Nyerere National Park (formerly Selous Game Reserve). Witness breathtaking scenery, spot iconic African wildlife like elephants, lions, hippos, and zebras, and experience traditional Maasai culture. You’ll enjoy game drives, a boat safari, and a guided walking safari to round off an adventurous journey.

Tour Plan

Start your adventure early with a drive from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi (approx. 5–6 hrs). Upon arrival, visit a local Maasai village to learn about their culture, homes, and traditional fire-making with sticks. After the cultural tour, head to your camp for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast, drive from Mikumi to Nyerere National Park, with a picnic lunch on the way (approx. 7–8 hrs). Upon arrival in the evening, embark on a sunset boat safari on the Rufiji River, spotting hippos, crocodiles, and abundant birdlife.
